Joe recently retired from 40 years of patient care as a Doctor of Physical Therapy.  He is a survivor of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA), has saved two lives using CPR and is an American Heart Association CPR instructor.  He and his wife Edie have trained thousands of citizens in the Tri Valley as well as assisting in the development of a 7th grade CPR/AED program in their local school district. Joe is a very active member of the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection Districts Heart Safe committee, San Francisco Bay Area AHA CPR committee and serves as the secretary of the PulsePoint Foundation.

Interesting Facts About Joe:

  • He has served on the Board of Directors of five professional associations.
  • His near death experience has fueled his advocacy work for CPR/AED training and placing AED’s in all California schools and businesses.
  • He and his wife have been to seven Rolling Stone’s Concerts. (Named his Labrador retriever “Mick” after Mick Jagger.)
