Via Heart Project + Peninsula Health Care District

Partnering to make community AEDs available, affordable, and rescueready.

Community AED Program

Funded by Peninsula Health Care District and managed by Via Heart project

Via Heart Project and the Peninsula Health Care District are working in partnership to implement an ongoing District-sponsored Community AED (automated external defibrillator) Program. Together, we will ensure that rescue-ready AEDs are available throughout the community, and provide the vital education and awareness needed to save lives.

With sponsorship from the Peninsula Health Care District, and management by Via Heart Project, this program will provide targeted support to remove the financial barriers and uncertainty around AED ownership and maintenance. Local organizations may be eligible to receive donated or reduced-cost AEDs, CPR/AED training, and subsidized enrollment in Via Heart Project’s comprehensive AED maintenance program to ensure AEDs remain rescue-ready beyond their initial placement.

Whether you need to place your first AED, need additional AEDs due to the size of your campus or facility, or if you have AEDs that are not currently enrolled in an ongoing, comprehensive maintenance program, interested organizations within the District are encouraged to complete the ‘Request Sponsorship’ form below. This will allow you to share what you need so that we can determine how we can help.

Program Criteria

Sites meeting the criteria listed below will receive priority funding. Sites that do not meet this criteria are still encouraged to submit the form so that we can fully assess the needs of the community and provide support if funding allows.

Does your current AEDs have a wall sign?(Required)
A wall sign should be mounted above an AED/cabinet to make for better visibility to locate the AED.

This can mean a certified training or a hands-only training (including AED demo and practicing chest compressions), even if not a certified class.

Via’s Comprehensive Maintenance Program

Our AED Maintenance Program eliminates worry and guesswork.
